Stop 1: Kenese Folk House (Tájház)
Located at 6 Kossuth Lajos Street, this thatched-roof building presents authentic Balaton folk architecture. The local history exhibition features ethnographic relics and personal items of the poet Lajos Soós. Visits are available upon prior appointment.
Stop 2: Tátorján Nature Trail and Lookout Point
Home to the rare Tátorján plant species, this educational trail features information boards and a scenic viewpoint overlooking the eastern basin of Lake Balaton.
Stop 3: Tatárlikak Caves
Mysterious man-made caves carved into the side of Soós Hill. These archaeological and historical sites offer a unique atmosphere—some caves are easily accessible, while others require rope access.
Stop 4: Akarattya Cliffs – Kisfaludy Promenade
The highlight of the route. Breathtaking views, romantic benches, and sunset photo spots await. Several lookout points are located along the promenade.

The Kenese Art Fest is a colorful, multi-day festival celebrating art in all its forms — classical music, jazz, folk, literature, crafts, and community programs. Events take place throughout Balatonkenese — in the churchyard, library, Folk House, Széchenyi Park, and even the bakery courtyard — making the festival a cultural walk through the town.

“Klassz a parton” is a nationwide open-air concert series offering classical music experiences in several Balaton towns each year. While Balatonkenese is not always among the venues, nearby cities such as Balatonalmádi, Balatonfüred, and Tihany regularly host performances, and new Balaton locations join every year.
The event is a perfect choice for those who want to spend summer evenings by Lake Balaton in a refined yet relaxed setting.
The Lecsó Festival is one of Balatonkenese’s most popular summer events, where the star of the day is lecsó (Hungarian vegetable stew) — prepared in countless variations by local teams and guests. The independent gastronomic festival takes place in Széchenyi Park in a friendly, community atmosphere.
The festival is a great opportunity to discover local flavors, traditions, and community spirit — all in an open-air summer setting.
Kenese Day is the official municipal celebration of Balatonkenese, accompanied by cultural and community events. The day features festive speeches, award ceremonies, live music, and family programs, celebrating the town’s identity and togetherness.

Balatoni Bob Leisure Park
Offers two different bobsled tracks, a climbing park, archery, and paintball for those seeking adventure. From the park’s lookout point, you can enjoy a stunning panorama of Lake Balaton. Ideal for families and thrill-seekers alike.
Balaton Observatory and Planetarium
A scientific and cultural center offering telescope demonstrations, lectures, and interactive programs. Especially recommended for evening visits when the starry sky can also be observed.
One of the most beautiful vantage points in the city, offering breathtaking views of Lake Balaton and the surrounding hills. Easily accessible, with benches and shady trees nearby. Perfect for short hikes or photography.
Nekem a Balaton – A cozy place created by Nóra Ördög and Pál Nánási, known for its unique atmosphere and high-quality selection. Breakfast, pizza, handmade products, their own brand of ice cream, and Balaton-themed gifts are available. Located in the area known as “Csücsök,” along Route 71.
Peter’s Terasz – A charming garden restaurant offering specialty coffee, refreshing drinks, and light meals. On weekends, live music or small events often add to the experience. Especially atmospheric at sunset.
Located at the Bercsényi beach entrance, opposite “Nekem a Balaton.” Their handcrafted ice creams have won several awards, including a special prize at the “Ice Cream of Balaton” competition. The curd dumpling flavor is particularly popular. The parlor has an elegant yet family-friendly atmosphere and uses high-quality ingredients.
From June 5–7 2026., engines will roar again at the Balaton Park Circuit
only about 15 minutes from Siamia Balaton. The world’s best riders return to the region to compete for the championship title – thrilling races, a festival atmosphere, and adrenaline-filled moments await visitors.
Tip for guests:
Instead of getting caught in race-weekend traffic, many visitors choose to travel by bicycle or scooter. The area is ideal for this – flat, safe routes lead directly to the circuit, and local bike rentals offer everything you need.
